Changes to reading room opening hours from January 2 2017 onwards

At the National Archives in Helsinki, the Rauhankatu reading room will continue to be open five days a week, while the Hallituskatu reading room will only be open from Tuesday to Thursday.

Our reading rooms around the country will be open on four days each week, except for Vaasa and Mikkeli, which will be open only from Tuesday to Thursday.

Reading room opening hours between January and May:

The National Archives, Rauhankatu Mon-Fri 9-16
The National Archives, Hallituskatu Tue-Thu 9-15 (closed on Mondays and Fridays)
Hämeenlinna, Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Turku Tue-Fri 9-16 (closed on Mondays)
Mikkeli, Vaasa Tue-Thu 9-16 (closed on Mondays and Fridays)

The Rauhankatu reading rooms at the National Archives in Helsinki will have extended opening hours until 8pm during weeks 3-20. There are also extended evening hours on one day each week in Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Mikkeli and Oulu during the same period. Extended evening hours in Turku and Vaasa will begin a week later – these will be available until 6pm every other week.

Opening hours at the Sámi Archives will remain the same as before, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
