The EAG and the EBNA met at the National Archives in Helsinki
In the frames of Finland’s presidency of the Council of European Union, the National Archives of Finland hosted the 27th Meeting of the European Archives Group (EAG) and the 40th Conference of European Board of National Archivists 19 - 20 September 2019 in Helsinki. The meeting and the conference took place at the old reading room of the National Archives of Finland.
The European Archives Group
The EAG is an official European Commission expert group. The mission of the EAG is to ensure cooperation and coordination on matters relating to archives. The EAG has cooperated in EU programmes, for example, to make archives in Europe more widely available via the Archives Portal Europe, and on methods for digital preservation in the eARK project.
The European Board of National Archivists
On the agenda of the EBNA are issues of strategic importance in the field of archives, such as digitisation and digitalisation, storage of electronic documents, document theft, disaster preparedness and standards.
