Opening hours of the National Archives’ reading room services in summer 2026
The reading room services and the reading room telephone service will be closed in July, with the exception of the Helsinki branch.
As in previous years, the National Archives’ reading rooms and the reading room telephone service will be closed from 1 to 31 July 2026.
The exceptions are the reading room services of the Helsinki branch in the National Library's temporary facilities. The services in the National Library's special reading room and Pohjoissali will also be open in July this year, as the reading room services were closed in March–April because of the move caused by the renovation of Rauhankatu.
In the special reading room, reading room services will be open in July Mon–Fri from 10 am to 5 pm. In July, we will deliver materials to the special reading room only from Topelia warehouse. You can check where the materials are stored here: https://kansallisarkisto.fi/rauhankadun-peruskorjaus-aineistosiirrot.
The customer computers in Pohjoissali will also be available in July. Pohjoissali will be open Mon-Fri from 9 am to 6 pm.
