Opening hours and customer service during Christmas

Reading rooms and their telephone service will be closed from 23 December 2024 to 1 January 2025.

We will deliver all reading room orders in Hämeenlinna digitally starting from 22 October

The branch office’s reading room will be closed 22.10.2024–31.3.2025.

A new telephone number for matters related to reading rooms starts 8.10.

The National Archives will discontinue the direct telephone numbers of its branch offices.

Gustaf Erikson's archive was accepted into UNESCO's Memory of the World register

After several years of completion, Åland submitted an application to UNESCO in 2021 for Gustaf Erikson's archive to be included in the International Memory of the World Register of Documentary Heritage.

The National Archives of Finland open on fewer days throughout Finland at the beginning of 2023 due to fewer customer visits
