Gustaf Erikson's archive was accepted into UNESCO's Memory of the World register
After several years of completion, Åland submitted an application to UNESCO in 2021 for Gustaf Erikson's archive to be included in the International Memory of the World Register of Documentary Heritage.

The National Archives of Finland has announced its opening hours for 1 January – 31 March 2023.

The 1954 Hague Convention calls for the protection of cultural property in armed conflict
In the end of March, Russian invaders hit the office of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Chernihiv, where the SBU’s regional archive is located. According to media sources, the case files of 13,000 victims of Stalin’s Great Purge were destroyed in the fire resulting from the strike. The National Archives of Finland is currently trying to discover how much of this material had been digitised.

The Finnish Court Records Search Service: you can now use full-text search with over three million hand-written pages
The Finnish Court Records Search Service of the National Archives of Finland has been updated. Over 1.5 million new images have been added to the service.

The new Astia access service has been fully implemented – all data material is now available in one place
The new Astia service is available to customers from 22 March onwards. Now all the data material of the National Archives, except for the Aarre data, can be retrieved and accessed through a single user interface.
